Members of Art Sandwiches will participate in the Houston Many Mini residency tomorrow July 12, 12-2 at Sky-Dive Art Space.
Matt Manalo, by far the most Filipino member of sandwiches, also has a solo slot at the residency Friday at 7:00 pm.

Yeasty
Art Sandwiches have a zine out! Hopefully to be put out bi-monthly, “Yeasty” will showcase paintings, prints, photos and essays by each members, plus a different guest artist every issue. The first issue, Will Pierce, an artist working out of Houston helped us get the ball rolling with his beautiful illustrations that are reminiscent of Berkley Breathed’s work in “Bloom Country”, and the early work of Walt Disney Studios (I hope Will agrees!).

We have other great artists to be our guest in the coming issues, from nationally renowned artists to our friends that we think show an enormous amount of talent.
Hurry and pick up an issue of “Yeasty: issue 1, Journey to the Center of the Loaf”, tonight from Katie at Megahoast Gallery, Tuesday, from Mike or Jody, at M squared Gallery, Thursday, from Katie again, at El Rincon Social, or soon at Domy Books!

Cody at The Joanna let Art Sandwiches help with recreating the Mary’s Mural. Possibly the gayest mural in Houston ever, Art Sandwiches are very grateful for the opportunity to help bring this amazing landmark (albeit temporarily (fuck you Coolidge))back to life.
